Expanding Our Family

We are finally getting tired of being asked "when are the two of you going to have a baby". July 2012 I went off the pill. Ever since then we have been trying to give Diego a buddy to play with. However it has not been as easy as expected.

When I started teaching in August I knew I'd be teaching child development but I had no idea I would be talking about sex and babies almost all day every day. This is especially frustrating when you are trying to make a baby. Sometimes I feel like I know too much about conception and reproduction and I feel frustrated that I know exactly what has to happen and when but it's not happening for me.

I finally decided to take some action in September by tracking my temperature. It was all over the place. Every other day it'd be up and down. The chart really looks like a roller coaster. Then in December I bought ovulation test strips that were highly recommended by a friend who is currently pregnant. At this point the test strips have not helped. I called the OB/GYN office at Lakeview Medical and have an appointment at the end of January 2013. (That will be 7 months into the process)

Now a lot of people say it takes a year after going off the pill to get pregnant but cycles are supposed to back to normal quickly but this has not been my case. Waiting for this dr appointment will be the longest wait ever.

All I can do now is keep doing what I'm doing and try to be patient waiting for my dr. appointment.
